Faltering: “to hesitate in purpose or action.” Sometimes we don’t have clear direction for the next step in life. The tumbling nature of the bedrock in this painting speaks to the uncertainty we feel in situations where we can’t see clearly to what’s ahead. The Bedrock still underlies all the topsy-turvy circumstances on the surface, but it’s solidity is not always felt.
